Francis II was the King of France from 1559 to 1560. He was born in the royal Château de Fontainebleau in 1544. His father was King Henry II of France and his mother was Catherine de' Medici. Francis II was a weak king and was not able to control the country during the French Wars of Religion. He died of tuberculosis in 1560 at the age of 16.
