Answer
The Algerian War (1954-1962) was a conflict between the French government and the Algerian National Liberation Front (FLN), a nationalist movement seeking independence for Algeria. Frantz Fanon, a psychiatrist and philosopher from Martinique, supported the FLN and its cause. He believed that the Algerian people had the right to self-determination and that the war was a necessary step towards achieving their independence.
