Fred Allen (1876-1966) was an All Blacks captain and coach. He captained the team in 1907, 1908 and 1909, leading them to victory over South Africa, England, France, Scotland and Wales. He also coached the team in 1909 and 1910. Allen was a very successful rugby player, and is considered one of the greatest All Blacks captains of all time.
