Jessie was the wife of the American author Jack London. The two were married in 1900 and had two children together, Joan and Becky. Jessie was a strong supporter of her husband's work and helped to edit and publish many of his books. She also wrote several books of her own, including "The Book of Jack London" (1921). The couple divorced in 1916.
