Red Bull Salzburg was the Austrian club managed by Gérard Houllier. He took over the reins in 2005 and guided the team to their first-ever Austrian Bundesliga title in his first season. Under Houllier's leadership, Salzburg also won the Austrian Cup and reached the semi-finals of the UEFA Cup. He left the club in 2006 to join Lyon in France.
