George Reid, the Australian Prime Minister between 1904 and 1905, was a barrister before he entered politics. After graduating from the University of Sydney, Reid worked as a barrister for 10 years. He was a successful barrister and was appointed Queen's Counsel in 1887. Reid's legal career gave him the skills and knowledge that he would later use in politics.
