Günter Grass passed away on 13 April 2015 in Lübeck, Germany at the age of 87. He was a German novelist, poet, playwright, essayist, and graphic artist. Grass was awarded the Nobel Prize in Literature in 1999 for his "novels that with great force depict the forgotten face of German history".
