Henrique Capriles served as the president of the Chamber of Deputies, the lower house of the National Assembly of Venezuela, from 2006 to 2010. He was elected to the Chamber of Deputies in 2005 and served as its president until 2010. During his time in office, he was a vocal critic of the government of Hugo Chávez and was involved in several protests against the government.
