Hephaestion was also a skilled diplomat, and was sent on a number of diplomatic missions by Alexander the Great. In 325 BC, he was sent to the court of King Porus in India, where he successfully negotiated a treaty between Alexander and Porus. Hephaestion also played a role in the reconciliation of Alexander and his general Craterus, who had fallen out with Alexander.
