Which two countries hosted Pierlot's government in exile during World War II?

  • USA and Canada

  • France and Britain

  • Germany and Italy

  • Russia and China

Answer

After the Nazis occupied Belgium in May 1940, Pierlot's government fled to France, which was then ruled by Marshal Philippe Pétain. However, after the German invasion of France in June 1940, Pierlot's government was forced to flee again, this time to Britain. Pierlot's government remained in exile in Britain for the rest of World War II, and played an important role in the Allied war effort.
