Hugo Almeida reached one UEFA Cup final with Werder Bremen. The 2008–09 UEFA Cup Final was the final match of the 2008–09 UEFA Cup, UEFA's second-tier club football tournament. The match was played at the Şükrü Saracoğlu Stadium in Istanbul, Turkey, on 20 May 2009, and was contested between Ukrainian side Shakhtar Donetsk and German side Werder Bremen. Shakhtar Donetsk won the match 2–1 after extra time.
