Ian Khama is the fourth president of Botswana, in office from 2008 to 2018. He is the son of the first president of Botswana, Sir Seretse Khama, and the younger half-brother of former president Festus Mogae. Khama was educated at the University of Oxford and served in the Botswana Defence Force for 10 years before entering politics. He was elected president in 2008 and was re-elected in 2014.
