Ibn Saud was the founder of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and the first king of the Saudi state. He was born in Riyadh in 1876 and ruled from 1932 until his death in 1953. He was a member of the House of Saud, which has ruled Saudi Arabia since its foundation.
