The Embassy of Yugoslavia was the site to which Hungarian Prime Minister Imre Nagy fled after the Soviet Union launched a military invasion of Hungary on 4 November 1956. The invasion was in response to the Hungarian Revolution of 1956, which had begun on 23 October.
