Isabella was the wife of King Edward II. They were married in 1308, and had two children together: Edward III and Eleanor of Woodstock. Isabella was unhappy in her marriage, and eventually became involved in a plot to overthrow her husband. In 1327, she and her lover, Roger Mortimer, invaded England and deposed Edward II. Isabella then became regent for her son, Edward III.
