Ishirō Honda (本多猪四郎, Honda Ishirō, December 7, 1905 – January 28, 1993) was a Japanese film director and special effects artist, considered one of the most important figures in the history of tokusatsu cinema. He entered the Japanese film industry in 1934, and after the end of World War II, he directed a number of important science fiction films, including Gojira (1954), Mothra (1961), and Rodan (1956).
