Answer
Born in 1666, Ivan V was the elder brother of Peter the Great and co-ruler of Russia from 1682 to 1696. Despite being the firstborn son of Tsar Alexis, Ivan suffered from poor health and intellectual disabilities, making him unfit to rule independently. As a result, his younger brother Peter assumed a more prominent role in governing the country.
