The Carlist movement, named after its supporters of Infante Carlos, supported the traditionalist line of succession in Spain. Infante Jaime was the Carlist claimant to the Spanish throne from 1936 until his abdication in 1941 during the Spanish Civil War, and again from 1953 until his death in 1975. He sought to restore the monarchy in Spain and return to the traditional values and customs of the past.
