Answer
Jeff Lynne was a principal songwriter for The Idle Race, a British rock band formed in Birmingham, England in 1966. The band released four studio albums, one live album, and several singles between 1968 and 1970. They disbanded in 1970, but Lynne continued to work with the band's drummer, Bev Bevan, on various projects, including the Electric Light Orchestra.
