Jenny Shipley is a member of the Council of Women World Leaders. She was the first female Prime Minister of New Zealand, serving from 1997 to 2000. She was also the first woman to lead a major political party in New Zealand, when she became the leader of the National Party in 1996. Shipley is a strong advocate for women's rights and gender equality.
