Wlodzimierz Cimoszewicz was the Prime Minister of Poland before Jerzy Buzek. He was in office from 1996 to 2001. Cimoszewicz was a member of the Democratic Left Alliance, and his government was a coalition of left-wing parties. Cimoszewicz's government oversaw the privatization of state-owned enterprises, and it also introduced a number of social reforms.
