Answer
In the 2018 Senate election in Indiana, incumbent Democrat Joe Donnelly was defeated by Republican Mike Braun. Braun, a businessman and former state legislator, campaigned on a platform of lower taxes, less government regulation, and support for President Donald Trump. Donnelly, a moderate Democrat, had been considered vulnerable to defeat due to his support for Obamacare and other Democratic policies that were unpopular in Indiana.
