John Corbett played first-class cricket for Derbyshire County Cricket Club. He made his debut for the club in 1892 and went on to play for them until 1906. He was a right-handed batsman and a right-arm fast bowler. He scored 1,413 runs in 83 first-class matches at an average of 17.78 and took 136 wickets at an average of 28.93. He was also a useful fielder.
