Joseph Joachim was a German violinist, conductor, teacher and composer. He was one of the most important violinists of his time, and his playing influenced many later violinists, including Fritz Kreisler, Jascha Heifetz and Yehudi Menuhin. Joachim also composed a number of pieces for violin, including concertos, sonatas and chamber music.
