Josh Barnett made his professional wrestling debut in 2003. He had previously been a mixed martial artist, and had won the UFC Heavyweight Championship in 2002. He left the UFC in 2003 to focus on his wrestling career, and has since competed in several different promotions, including WWE, TNA, and New Japan Pro-Wrestling. He is currently signed to Bellator MMA, and has not competed in wrestling since 2016.
