Answer
Joshua Cheptegei became the world cross country champion in 2019. He was the first Ugandan to win the title since Stephen Kiprotich in 2011. Cheptegei won the race in a time of 30:01, beating the second-place finisher by more than 20 seconds. This was Cheptegei's first major international title, and it helped to cement his status as one of the top distance runners in the world.
