Two terms; Filip Vujanović served as the second President of Montenegro from 2003 until 2018, succeeding Milo Đukanović. During his tenure, Montenegro transitioned from a part of the State Union of Serbia and Montenegro to an independent state in 2006, and joined both NATO (2017) and the World Trade Organization (2012) under Vujanović's presidency.
