Katrín Jakobsdóttir is the Prime Minister of Iceland. She is a member of the Social Democratic Alliance, which is the largest party in the Icelandic parliament. Jakobsdóttir was first elected to parliament in 2009 and served as minister of education, science and culture from 2011 to 2013. She was elected prime minister in 2017 and has been re-elected twice since then.
