King Paul of Greece appointed Constantine Karamanlis as Prime Minister in 1955. Karamanlis was a conservative politician who had previously served as Prime Minister from 1950 to 1952. He was appointed by King Paul in an effort to resolve a political crisis that had been caused by the resignation of the previous Prime Minister, Alexandros Papagos.
