Kurt Weill was born in Dessau, Germany in 1900. He was a composer and lyricist who is best known for his collaborations with Bertolt Brecht. He wrote the music for many of Brecht's plays, including The Threepenny Opera and The Rise and Fall of the City of Mahagonny.
