Ladislaus Hunyadi was executed in March 1457 after being found guilty of treason. He was the son of János Hunyadi, who had been the voivode of Transylvania and regent of Hungary. Ladislaus was accused of conspiring with the Ottoman Empire to overthrow his brother-in-law, King Matthias Corvinus. He was tried and executed in Buda, and his body was displayed publicly.
