Answer
Mad Season was the name of Layne Staley's side project, formed in 1994. The band featured Staley on vocals, Mike McCready of Pearl Jam on guitar, Barrett Martin of Screaming Trees on drums, and John Baker Saunders on bass. Mad Season released one album, "Above," in 1995. The album was a critical and commercial success, and its lead single, "River of Deceit," became a hit on alternative radio.
