Who succeeded Leonidas I?

  • Pleistarchus

  • Leotychidas

  • Cleomenes I

  • Anaxandridas II

Answer

Pleistarchus, the son of Leonidas I, succeeded his father as the king of Sparta. Leonidas I was killed at the Battle of Thermopylae in 480 BC, defending Greece against the Persian invasion. Pleistarchus was still a minor at the time of his father's death, so his uncle Cleombrotus served as regent until Pleistarchus came of age.
