Moesia was the birthplace of the Roman emperor Licinius. He was born in the city of Naissus, which is now known as Niš, Serbia. Licinius was a military commander who rose to prominence during the reign of Emperor Constantine I. He eventually became co-emperor with Constantine, but the two men later fell out and fought a civil war. Licinius was defeated and executed in 324 AD.
