Answer
Licinius became Roman emperor in 308. He was one of the four co-emperors of the Tetrarchy, which was a system of government that divided the Roman Empire into four regions, each ruled by an emperor. Licinius ruled the eastern region of the empire, while the other three emperors ruled the western, northern, and southern regions. The Tetrarchy was short-lived, and Licinius was defeated by Constantine in 324 and executed.
