Constantine I, or Constantine the Great, was a Roman emperor who ruled from 306 to 337. He is best known for converting to Christianity and legalizing the religion in the Roman Empire. In 313, Constantine and Licinius, another Roman emperor, issued the Edict of Milan, which granted religious freedom to all citizens of the empire.
