Answer
Oscar Wilde sued the Marquess of Queensberry for criminal libel after Queensberry published a card in a club that suggested Wilde was homosexual. Queensberry had been suspicious of Wilde's relationship with his son, Alfred Douglas, and had been trying to get Wilde to end it. The case went to trial in April 1895, and Wilde was found guilty.
