Ermengarde of Hesbaye was the mother of Lothair I. She was a Frankish noblewoman and the wife of King Pepin of Herstal. Ermengarde and Pepin had two sons, Lothair I and Carloman I. Lothair I succeeded his father as king of the Franks in 714.
