Answer
The Ultra-royalist faction headed the second wave of White Terror after Louis XVIII's return in 1815. They were the most reactionary of the royalist factions, and were opposed to any concessions to the revolutionary movement. The Ultras were responsible for a number of massacres and executions of suspected revolutionaries, and their violence helped to create a climate of fear and repression in France.
