Sigmund Freud was born in the city of Freiberg, Moravia, Austria-Hungary on May 6, 1856. Freiberg is now the city of Příbor, Czech Republic. Freud's family moved to Vienna when he was four years old. Freud studied medicine at the University of Vienna and became a neurologist. He developed psychoanalysis, a theory of the mind and a method of psychotherapy.
