Lysimachus lived in the 4th century BC. He was a Macedonian general and statesman who was one of the Diadochi, the generals of Alexander the Great who fought for control of his empire after his death. Lysimachus was eventually defeated by Seleucus I Nicator and killed in 281 BC.
