Answer
Dutch physicist Martinus J.G. Veltman was born in Waalwijk, Netherlands, in 1931. He shared the 1999 Nobel Prize in Physics with his American colleague Gerard't Hooft for their work on the Standard Model of particle physics. Veltman's contributions included developing techniques for calculating Feynman diagrams, which are used to describe the interactions of elementary particles.
