Answer
Before she became Queen, Mary II held the title of Princess. She was the daughter of King James II and Anne Hyde, and was born in 1662. She was raised as a Protestant, and when her father converted to Catholicism in 1685, she was forced to flee to Holland. After her father was deposed in 1688, Mary returned to England and was crowned Queen alongside her husband, William III.
