André Messager was a French composer, conductor, and pianist. Born in Montluçon, France, in 1853, he studied at the Paris Conservatoire and went on to have a successful career in music. He is best known for his operettas, which were popular in the late 19th and early 20th centuries. He also composed orchestral works, songs, and ballets. Messager died in Paris in 1929.
