Kathleen Wynne succeeded Dalton McGuinty as Premier of Ontario. McGuinty resigned in 2013 after nine years in office, and Wynne, who had served as Minister of Education and Minister of Transportation, was elected as the new leader of the Ontario Liberal Party. She became the first female Premier of Ontario and served until 2018.
