Nadia Murad was held by the Islamic State for three months. She was captured during the Islamic State's assault on her village in Sinjar, Iraq, in August 2014. She was then taken to Mosul, where she was forced to marry an Islamic State fighter. She was eventually able to escape and flee to Germany, where she now lives.
