The Germanic Campaigns were halted by the untimely death of Nero Claudius Drusus. Drusus was a Roman general and politician who was the younger brother of the Roman emperor Tiberius. He was also the father of the future Roman emperor Claudius. Drusus led a number of successful campaigns against the Germanic tribes, but he was killed in a fall from his horse in 9 BC.
