Emperor Augustus was the legal husband of Nero Claudius Drusus. He was the first emperor of Rome and ruled from 27 BC to 14 AD. Drusus was his stepson and the son of his third wife Livia Drusilla. He was a military commander and statesman and played a key role in the expansion of the Roman Empire. He died in 9 BC and was succeeded by his son Tiberius.
