Did Olaf Stapledon ever win a Hugo award?

  • Yes

  • No

  • He was nominated

  • He refused the award

Answer

Although Olaf Stapledon is often considered a foundational figure in science fiction, he never won a Hugo Award. Stapledon's work was often seen as too challenging or philosophical for the Hugo Award voters. He did, however, receive the British Science Fiction Association's Award for Best Novel in 1937 for Last and First Men, and the John W. Campbell Memorial Award for Best Novel in 1957 for Star Maker.
