Answer
The Magyars were a nomadic people who migrated from Central Asia into Europe in the 9th century. They settled in the Pannonian Plain, which is now part of Hungary, and they quickly became a major threat to the Frankish Empire. In 955, the Magyars were defeated by Otto I, the Holy Roman Emperor, at the Battle of Lechfeld. This battle marked the end of the Magyar threat to Western Europe.
